Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to access meetergo using their existing credentials from Google Workspace, Office 365, Azure AD, Okta, or OneLogin.

Enabling SSO provides a number of benefits:

  • Users can login to meetergo with their familiar work credentials instead of an additional password
  • Reduces IT management overhead around passwords and user accounts
  • Centralize authentication through your Identity Provider (IdP)

Configuring SSO

To configure SSO, navigate to Organization Settings > Single Sign-On. Select your Identity Provider and enter details like Identifier, Secret Key/Client Secret to establish the connection.

Ensure any SAML settings match attributes expected by your IdP. You will also need to add redirect URIs to enable deep linking:

Finally, choose automated provisioning and deprovisioning if you would like user accounts handled by your IdP.

Mapping User Attributes

During authentication, user attributes like name, email, etc. are passed from your IdP to populate meetergo profiles.

You can view and customize attribute mapping under SSO settings. Common fields are:

  • Email > Basic Info > Primary email
  • First Name > Basic Info > First name
  • Last Name > Basic Info > Last name

Managing Access

With SSO, user permissions and group memberships should be handled by your IdP. As changes occur, meetergo profiles will automatically update to reflect access.

Admin roles can also directly edit meetergo profiles and override any programmatic changes needed.

SSO establishes the link with your authentication system. Actual access still aligns with meetergo roles, scopes, permissions and sharing settings.

SSO Sessions

When users log in with SSO, their meetergo session persists until logout based on your Identity Provider timeout policies.

Sessions extend when users are actively using meetergo or can be configured to always remain open.

To fully disconnect, users must log out of both meetergo and their IdP. Logging out of one does not terminate the session with the other.

Conclusion

SSO support makes it easy to align meetergo with your organization's existing access management and authentication systems. This improves the onboarding experience while still providing visibility and control over permissions.
